§ 85-13. Golf carts.

Latest version.

Authorization to operate a motorized golf cart on a public street within the City of Fairfax is by permit only. Permits may be granted for a period not to exceed one year, and may be annually renewed. A permit may be revoked at any time if there is evidence that the person granted the permit cannot safely operate the motorized golf cart on the roadways.

A.
The following provisions prescribed must be met in order to have a permit granted.

(1)
Must be a licensed driver.

(2)
Must provide proof of insurance.

B.
Application of traffic laws. Every person operating a motorized golf cart has all the rights and duties applicable to the driver of any other vehicle.

C.
Times of operation. Motorized golf carts may only be operated from sunrise to sunset.

D.
Slow-moving vehicle emblem. Motorized golf carts shall display the slow-moving vehicle emblem when operated on public roadways.
